Solitude

ABOUT Solitude

Your friends & family may look completely fine to you as they put on a brave face, but sometimes they are the people who need the most help and fight internal battles every day on their own.

We create these rules in our heads of ‘we must’, or ‘we ought to’ that we’ve engraved into ourselves as we grew up. For example; I must be this type of person when responding to my mum, friend, or daughter. But reality is, you are not obliged to react in any certain way.

It’s as simple as expressing it’s okay to not be okay. But know that this occasionally means it might last weeks, months, or years of feeling distressed, disheartened, or discouraged.

Small things like making your bed, making it outside for half an hour, making yourself an easy nutritious meal - these are achievements for some and if you are one of these people, you are doing awesome!

Please remember how people present themselves is not always the full story. Be kind to yourself when your life is getting tough. Tread carefully with your comments and be aware of even the strongest among us. We are all human and we all experience this thing called life.
